night

i watched oprah just now. it was a special episode on the holocaust. she visited auchswitz with a survivor, elie wiesel who is also a nobel peace winner. and goodness, watching it, my feelings were indescribable. i thought that was one of the best episodes ever. gembeng that i am, i teared up. but who wouldn't. when confronted with the images of the shoes and clothes of the children and infants thrown into the gas chambers.

"watching one child die doesn't make sense. watching millions of children dying.. what sense can we make of it?"
- elie wiesel

the words he spouts drip of intelligence, of such compassion and gravity that i am in awe of that man. i now want to read his memoirs 'night' so bad. guarantee melalak.
