so on saturday..

saturday saw jila and i going heading to suntec to watch the suntec dance grand finals. we've watched it a few times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed making fun of people with 2 left feet.

i thought yesterday's performances were impressive. and i saw one of my friends, shikin and her group. they've been in the finals in the past few years already but have never won. but yesterday they were damn good siol. and so were some of the kids in the under-12 category. inhibitions? huh what what's that? no such thing for them. so young, but so much showmanship. bravo little ones.

you know what irked me about the whole thing? the goodies given out were those annoying whistles that were constantly used in chinese concerts. somehow all the whistling didn't exactly give off a hip atmosphere at the event. but thankfully it wasn't rampantly used.

we didn't stay till the announcement of the results. around 9ish we hailed a cab and headed to lut's place at ghim moh. he's going off to germany next sunday for further studies. did you know that education in germany is free? ABSOBLOODYLUTELY FREE! whether you're a citizen or not. so i'm thinking the price you had to pay there is in overcoming the language barrier and the fact that a german degree doesn't really have much international recognition. but heck, a free overseas degree is better than none at all huh.

we reached lut's doorstep and found that the whole bunch of people inside were taking pictures. surprisingly, for the camwhores that we are, we waited outside patiently munching m&m's. we were highly amused to see a bicycle and a metal shoerack thing outside the flat. the amusing part was, the shoerack was locked and chained while the bicycle wasn't. klakar kan? priorities a bit salah, you think? jila and i just had to laugh out loud at that. even now i'm still giggling thinking about it.

we made our grand entrance like the divas that we are and hellos were waved, hi's were shouted and hugs were exchanged. settled down, ate a little and the usual nonsensical bantering ensued. in jila's case, having temporarily forgotten that richard is in camp, a little bit of flirting and a small dose of sucking up to lut's mother also spiced things up haha. my buddy, the whore. but then again birds of a fucking feather flock together. in the midst of it all we remembered awin who would have loved to add to the spicing up but she was in malacca, controlling her bowels.

we made a move at almost 12, and did a few more camwhoring by the road with apeks in lorries watching us, seemingly tickled that 2 anak daras were fronting some very tak-tau-malu and tak-ingat-dunia poses against the traffic light.

got home, well and spent. but contented nonetheless. happy happy joy joy.
