i worry for him / sunday night tv
but i guess my bro's fine since he told us he was okay yesterday. lucky for him he didnt go phuket. he's in krabi instead. and his hotel is not located near any beaches so big phew. but he said he did see the tsunamis. can you imagine 10-metre waves? i've had nightmares of huge waves like that.
so i guess he's stuck there. till when i have no idea. i was watching rtm1 and a newsreel at the bottom read: An 8-month old baby was swept off from mother by huge waves. god help us all.
on the brighter side of things watched a few tv shows last night. frantic channel-surfing ensued.
affairs of the heart: 7 pm, channel 8
charity show with the usual stunts. i watched it cos taufik and sly were in it. they sang 'i dream' and 'an jing'. i have to admit that sly sounded really good. or maybe my judgement was clouded by that makeout dream i had with him in it. taufik was brilliant as usual, what can i say. together they also sang a duet of 'you light up my life'... not an automatic choice of song when you think about it. sly looked like he was struggling with it. i think they sang it cos it was befitting of the whole concept and feel of the show. tribute to patients and people with terminal diseases and such. towards the end, taufik sang a bit of 'an jing' and sly sang 'belaian jiwa'. nicely done. or as gurmit would say, 'nicely well done.'
oprah primetime: 8 pm, starworld
johnny depp and kate winslet was on promoting 'finding neverland'. mr depp's face is PURR-FECTION. he doesnt have a bad angle at all. his wife vanessa paradis is gorgeous so of course their children are nothing short of perfection too. and kate winslet looks strangely slim. she was always known to be on the womanly curvy side and last night she looked really good. her face was beautiful. classic english rose type of look. but she said she doesnt believe in botox and plastic surgeries. right.
check out the cheekbones people. you can slice onions with those.
the swan: 10 pm, channel 5
freaky show with freaky people inside. sure they look better now than they did last time. but before the transformation they looked normal at least. they look like barbies gone wrong. smiles too wide and too white. noses too sharp. boobs were humoungous and some pairs were not even of the same size. eyes too.. wide-eyed. the amount of botox used were enough to flood the entire world 7 times over, i think. ok ok i wont be demeaning anymore. if their lives turned out to be more fantastic for them after the transformations, good for them. if their esteem issues were resolved due to the surgeries, hurray.
6 weeks : 10 pm, channel i
*eli gives a standing ovation for this show* poignant, stirring but with touches of wry humour. did anyone else catch the finale last night? adrian pang is a hoot to watch. he died in the end but not due to his stomach cancer (turned out he could be in remission already) but he was beaten up by his mercedes-driving bully of a neighbour while driving his wife who was in labour to the hospital. of course eli the softie cried in the end.
some tagalog show: 11 pm, rtm1
saw donita rose in the show. doesnt anyone else miss her?? i do. she was one of my favourite vjs ever. she seems real. not like the rest of the skinny ones who didnt quite have the connection with viewers. and her face is beautiful. i loiiike. and the guy in the show with her was hot. name was something pascual. i also loiiike. some christmas show. i never got the plot of the drama.
law and order: 11 pm, channel i
i didnt know this show was that good. almost as good as csi but not quite.
2005's creeping up on us. hope the next year brings more good tidings. rather than tidal waves. that would be a horrid way to start the year, wouldnt it.
